I have been a resident of Prince George and area since 1968. Like many people in the area, I came to Prince George to work for a year, and never left.

I am married, and my wife and I have two grown daughters. Both have graduated from university and are now seeking their fortunes in other parts of the country.

Since my wife and I had daughters, our family has been heavily involved with the Girl Guide movement in Prince George for many years. My wife was a Guide Leader, Deputy Area Commissioner for five years, and Area Treasurer for another three. Throughout this time I have acted as a support and resource person to assist her in her duties.

I have been both an Area Captain and canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society.

I have also been a blood donor most of my adult life, and several years ago made my 50th donation.

I worked in the B. C. Ministry of Forests for 35 years. I worked in most programs of the ministry such as timber harvesting and fire suppression, but the latter part of my career was spent in the area of silviculture. This is defined as the art and science of growing trees. As a Field Operations Supervisor, I was responsible for the silviculture program for the Small Business Forest Enterprise Program, and then for the British Columbia Timber Sales Program in the Prince George District until my retirement in 2004. I am a Registered Professional Forester and maintain a keen interest in the forest industry.

My wife and I enjoy gardening, walking, the outdoors and travel.
