Sid Doucette started his sales career in 1958 as a parts man with Mackenize Auto in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Then, in 1960, he worked with Peoples Credit Jewellers and reached the position of Area Manager.

He began his career in real estate in 1975 at Canada Trust Real Estate. Between the years 1977 and 1982, Sid Doucette was one of three partners who started the first CENTURY 21 office in the Prince George area. He later took a position with Ron Carson Real Estate. On November 1, 1984, he opened the doors of Doucette Realty for business.

In February of 1996, Doucette Realty merged with Metric Realty and by April, 1998, Doucette Realty had re-connected with CENTURY 21 to become CENTURY 21 Doucette Realty. At the beginning of the year 2004, Sid Doucette let the Century 21 franchise expire and took the company back to it's local roots as Doucette Realty Ltd. once again.
